Come to the GEO Department’s open house on April 3!

GEO Day is the open house of the Department of Geodesy and Geoinformation at the Vienna University of Technology. Next year, it will take place on April 23, 2026, at the Freihaus building of the Vienna University of Technology.

Since its inception in 2018, the event has invited visitors to experience the fascinating world of satellite data, laser scanners, and virtual and augmented reality tools up close. The aim is to raise awareness of the geodesy and geoinformation degree program and offer interested visitors exciting insights into research and practice.

GEO Day is primarily aimed at school students, school classes, and (prospective) students, but alumni, friends, and families are also welcome.

Morning: Research, experiment, understand

  • Interactive stations – from data collection, measurement, experimentation, and observation to tangible science.
  • Experiments, workshops, and short keynote speeches that are fun and spark curiosity about geodesy and geoinformation.

Afternoon: Networking and discovering new perspectives

In the afternoon, numerous companies and research partners will be presenting themselves. They will provide insights into career fields, showcase current projects, and offer networking opportunities.

Refreshments and snacks will be provided, so just drop by!

We look forward to seeing you!
